New API endpoints: episodes and account info

The Fireside API now covers more than download stats. You can pull your episodes into your own tools, scripts and automations.

What's new

  • List episodes — GET /api/v1/podcasts/:podcast_token/episodes returns every episode, including drafts and scheduled ones, newest first. Add ?status=published, scheduled or draft to filter.
  • Get an episode — GET /api/v1/podcasts/:podcast_token/episodes/:episode_token returns one episode, including its description (show notes).
  • Check your key — GET /api/v1/me returns the account and API key you're using, so you can quickly confirm a key works.

Each episode includes its title, status, publish date, duration, season, public page URL, audio URL, and a private preview link. Episodes look the same everywhere in the API, so the episode metrics endpoint now returns these fields too, alongside the download numbers. Every field it returned before is still there.

Permissions

The API follows the same rules as your dashboard. If you can see episodes or stats in Fireside, you can see them through the API. Owners, managers and producers can list episodes, the same as on the Episodes page.

Getting started

Create an API key under Account → API Keys, then see the API documentation for every endpoint and field.

A note on preview links: anyone with a preview link can see and play that episode, even before it's published. Share them only with people you'd show an unreleased episode to.
