Hello fellow podcasters!
Yesterday, Apple rolled out their new, updated list of podcacst categories (you can see Apple’s full list here). And as you’d expect, you can use these new categories for your Fireside Podcast starting right now!
In addition to adding and reorganizing the categories, Apple has also removed a handful of them as well. But don’t worry, if your podcast was assigned to one of the removed categories, we’ve migrated you to its parent category. For example, one of the removed categories was “Technology > Gadgets”. If your podcast was assigned to that category, it has been moved up to the general “Technology” category instead. In the case where a category’s parent was changed (“Technology > Tech News” was moved to “News > Tech News” for example), we have reassigned your podcast to the newly positioned category for you.
Please take a moment to review the categories for each of your podcasts, both to ensure that they’re assigned correctly, but also to see if there might be a newer and more appropriate category for your show.
You can review and make changes to your categories by visiting the “Apple Podcasts” section under Settings → General.
