Updates to Copyright and YouTube Fields, New Per-Episode Hosts Feature

Firesiders,

I wanted to tell you about two bug-fixes that may require your attention, and the addition of a cool new feature.

First, the fixes:

  1. I've fixed the way Fireside was handling YouTube URLs (thanks, Alexandre!), and they are now free-form fields to account for the many URLs YouTube uses for users/channels/etc. I've done my best to migrate the data, but if you entered a YouTube URL for either your Podcast or any of your Hosts, please verify that the URLs are still correct. Most likely, they will just work.
  2. I've improved the way the Podcast Copyright field is formatted. Fireside now handles the © symbol and the date, you just enter the name of the copyright holder. Again, I've migrated the data, but it's probably worth checking.

And now, the feature: Per-Episode Hosts! By popular request, you can now select which of your hosts are active for each episode. This is a handy feature if you have multiple hosts, a different panel each week, etc. By default, all of your hosts will be selected; just un-check the host(s) that weren't part of the episode, and they won't appear on the episode's page (all visible hosts appear on the main podcast page).

Happy podcasting,

Dan
