Multi-User Is Here!

Friends,

We've been hard at work for a while on a number of big updates for Fireside! On Friday I rolled out multi-user access, which we call Collaborations. It's something we've been working on for a while now and it's functionality heavily based on your feedback and suggestions. Thank you for your ongoing input to help make Fireside the best it can be!

If you're still on a Beta plan and would like access to these new features as well as all the upcoming features we're working on, just visit your Subscription Settings Page and switch to the Standard plan. There's no pressure to leave the Beta plan though, and all plans will continue to receive all bug fixes, optimizations, and enhancements as I work hard to improve Fireside.

Collaborations: Multi-User Access

Every user on the Standard Plan now has the ability to invite additional people to help out with their Fireside Podcast. This is useful in situations where you'd like for your co-host(s) to be able to help post shows or add Links. It also makes it possible for you to have an audio engineer upload episodes for you, or a producer help manage your workflow.

Inviting a Collaborator will automatically send them an email invitation to join Fireside on a special free plan that will give them access to your Podcast (and any others they are invited to). They won't be able to create their own Podcast without first signing up for a paying plan, but they will have access to your Podcast without paying anything.

If your Collaborator already has a Fireside account, using their current email address will automatically give them access to your Podcast, and it will appear in their Podcast List page in the Account section.

And don't worry: your Collaborators will not be able to delete your Podcast or access your billing information or account preferences. They'll also be able to remove themselves from your Podcast any time, and can rejoin again later if you decide to re-invite them.

I hope this feature is helpful to you. Thanks to everybody who has contributed their ideas -- please keep the great feedback coming!

Happy podcasting!

Dan Benjamin
