Real-Time Feed Notifications with Podping and WebSub

When you publish or update an episode, we now send real-time notifications via https://podping.org and WebSub (formerly PubSubHubbub) — two open protocols that let apps know your feed has changed instead of waiting for them to check on their own. Adding support for these protocols was the last piece of the puzzle for Fireside's implementation of the https://podstandards.org/.

It's worth noting that major platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify use their own proprietary systems for discovering feed updates, so this won't change how quickly they pick up your episodes. Where these protocols shine is in the https://podcastindex.org ecosystem — apps like Fountain, Podverse, and Castamatic — as well as RSS readers and aggregators that support WebSub. For listeners using those apps, new episodes can show up almost immediately instead of waiting for the next polling cycle.

Both protocols are enabled automatically for all Fireside podcasts with no configuration needed on your end.
