A talent is a significant amount of money. It demonstrated the Master's trust in his servants. God has invested quite a bit in us; we should recognize this when we look at our Crucified Lord. No matter how many talents we've been given, God isn't looking for us to produce beyond what we've been given, but we are called to put in the work. We may come up with excuses, but in the end, it matters not. What matters is what we do with the time we've been given, with the skills and the grace He has invested in us.
